Our story
We are Brian, Marty, and Eli Castner, and we just started a new family farm in the rolling hills of Washington County. Marty is the full time chicken-herder, sheep-tender, cider-presser, and hay-stacker. Eli is still in school but runs socials and does summer chores. Brian is a military veteran and writer who has traveled the world but is now happy to be fixed in one amazing spot in the valley.
We are a small farm focused on regenerative sustainable agriculture. Our goal is to grow rich soil and healthy pastures while also providing healthy and tasty food for our community. We have grass-fed poultry today, sheep on the way, and more plans to come. Check back for more options soon.
How do say that again?
It’s easy - just try “da True!” Our "da True" ancestors came to the Hudson Valley in 1624, and du Trieux’s settled from New Amsterdam (as New York City was known at the time) to Schenectady, the Mohawk Valley, and all the way up to where we live today, in the foothills of the Adirondacks and Green Mountains. We're proud to come back to the land and pick up where they left off, starting a new family farm four hundred years later.
